ikea meatballs went downhill :(

I'm pretty sure Ikea is popular not only because of their unique shopping concept and affordable price tags but also their pocket-friendly famous meatballs at their only restaurant.
Recently, Rudy & I brought Diana out for lunch at Ikea Tampines and realised that the IKEA Food Services had actually altered the formulation of the meatballs and claimed that the quality of meat used was enhanced according to the promising traditional Swedish recipe.

Do note that Halal Meatballs are available at IKEA Tampines! ;)

Honestly, we were both disappointed due to the obvious compromised taste and serving size.  :(

Swedish Meatballs - 10 pieces for $5.40 ; 15 pieces for $8 ; 20 pieces for $9.50
The average size of each meatball has notably shrunk to prolly half of its original dimensions so technically,
they have increased the price per unit mass of meatballs?
Somehow, the freshness of the meatballs was drastically impaired despite the quest to adhere to the traditional Swedish recipe. Or.... The authentic taste was supposed to be like this?

Gravad Lax Plate - $5.90
Passionately cured slices of fresh salmon has always been our favourite appetiser and it still is!
My tiny request was to have them sliced into smaller pieces so that we can share it more conveniently.

Baked Chicken Leg Combo - $10.90
Perfectly marinated hugeass chicken leg with tender meat was absolutely divine.
My tastebuds felt so pampered all of a sudden.  hahahaha  :P

Ribeye Steak Combo - $12.80
dee whined that it was exceedingly overdone; Diana and I couldn't agree more with that.
it was seriously challenging for us to cut it into bite-sized portions followed by chewing them up for proper assimilation. I guess rudy had toned his cheek muscles just by attempting to clear this plate up reluctantly.
*thumbs down*

IKEA Fried Chicken Wings - 6 for $7.50
Sinfully pure indulgence without the slightest tinge of guilt (at least for this foodie couple here! muahahaa )
The heavenly combination of crispy skin and succulent chicken meat was just too irresistible.
We noticed every table had ordered at least 6 pieces of IKEA Chicken Wings, they were undoubtedly the most sought-after food item at IKEA!
GO TRY THEM!!! ;)

Well, our mission of the day was to hunt for a suitable book shelf for dee as his old wooden shelf had finally surrendered due to the aircon leakage after serving him for at least 4 good years.
and it was really an eye opener to witness how dee manually carried the 39kg heavy, 2 metres tall shelf onto the car like this...
remarkable right?

Nope, it wasn't a mean feat at all.
Try being a coolie and carry such an elongated object over your poor shoulder..
 *perspires profusely*

After which, dee began to assemble the shelf from scratch according to the assembly instructions provided in the box.
diana was a diligent helper too!  ;)

Now, let's view the transformation!
BEFORE...
the old shelf could no longer withstand the weight of his massive book collections and whatnot and gave way all of a sudden one day.
dee's quite a bookworm as you can tell.
Thank God he owns a NOOK now so reading has become more convenient and of course, less messy for sure!
He'll blog about this new gadget of his pretty soon, i hope!  ;)

AFTER assembling the different parts of shelf manually from scratch for about 1.5hours, everything became NEAT and TIDY immediately!
this weirdo boyfriend coerced me to showcase his proud collection of gundam models and I shall abide unwillingly...  LOL!
sorry, I've no captions for these figurines.
any help?  =X

Can't wait for this weekend to arrive as dee & I are attending an event as a couple! hehehe

Oh, i'll blog about the chemical peel sessions which the lil sis and I have bravely experienced together.
stay tuned!

*nursing my monstrously red, tight and flaky skin now*

nights everyone!
;)
